An accident is stressful, even a minor drop at low speed. Knowing what to do next protects your health, your claim and your bike.
Safety and health first
Make sure you and anyone else involved are safe. Move out of traffic if you can do so safely and get medical help if anyone is hurt. Adrenaline can hide injuries, so get checked even if you feel fine.
Exchange details and record evidence
Exchange names, addresses, insurance and registration details with any other party. Take photos of the scene, the vehicles, road conditions and any damage, and note the names of witnesses. If you have a helmet or dash camera, save the footage.
Tell your insurer
Report the accident to your insurer as soon as possible, even if you do not plan to claim. Most policies require this.
Do not ride a damaged bike
Even a small drop can bend levers, footpegs, handlebars or forks, crack brake lines or damage a wheel. These faults are not always visible and can make a bike unsafe to ride. Arrange recovery instead of riding home.
Inspection and repair
King's Bike can recover your motorcycle to our East London workshop, carry out a full safety inspection, assess the damage and give you a clear estimate. We repair or replace damaged parts and check frame, forks and wheel alignment before the bike goes back on the road.
Accident management
If the accident was not your fault, an accident management service can help with the claim, repairs and getting you back on two wheels. Ask us about your options.
