Every food delivery rider needs a way to carry orders. The two main choices are a thermal backpack and a top box fixed to the bike.
Thermal backpack
Light, flexible and easy to move between bikes, and many platforms provide one. On long shifts, though, the weight sits on your back and shoulders, and it can affect your balance.
Top box
Fixed to a rear rack, it takes the weight off your body, keeps food upright and dry, and is lockable. Choose a size and shape that suits the orders you carry, such as a pizza box for flat items.
Safety and comfort
Many full-time riders prefer a top box for comfort and stability, especially on long shifts and in the rain.
Fitting
A top box needs a strong rack and correct mounting so it does not come loose. Do not overload it beyond the rack's limit.
