Tyres are the only thing connecting you to the road, and on London's wet streets they matter more than any other part of your bike. King's Bike fits motorcycle and scooter tyres at our E16 workshop, with wheel balancing done properly so the bike feels stable at every speed.
Our tyre service
Removal of the wheel, fitting of your new tyre, new valve where needed, balancing, refitting with correct torque, and a final check of pressures, brakes and chain adjustment. We can supply tyres for most sizes or fit tyres you have bought yourself.
When to replace your tyres
In the UK, motorcycles over 50cc need at least 1mm of tread across three quarters of the tyre's width, with visible tread on the rest. In practice, grip drops well before that point, especially in the rain. Cracking on the sidewalls, flat spots in the centre from commuting, bulges and punctures in the shoulder are all reasons to replace a tyre.
Punctures
Many punctures in the central tread area can be assessed and, where safe, repaired. Damage to the sidewall or shoulder normally means the tyre must be replaced.
