Tyre fitting
We remove the wheel, fit your new tyre with a new valve where needed, balance it, refit the wheel to the correct torque, then check pressures, brakes and chain or belt while we are there.
Punctures
Small punctures in the central tread area can often be repaired safely. Damage to the sidewall or shoulder, large cuts, or a tyre that has been ridden flat means it must be replaced.
Legal tread depth
Motorcycle tyres over 50cc need at least 1mm of tread across three quarters of the width, with visible tread on the rest. Grip drops long before that in the wet, so many riders replace earlier.
Delivery riders
High mileage wears rear tyres quickly. Check them weekly.
