CBT in London: What It Lets You Ride and What It Doesn't — Easy Bikes - Motorcycle Rentals, Recovery, Sell

The CBT (Compulsory Basic Training) is the first step for most riders in London. It is a one-day course, not a test, and at the end you receive a certificate.

What you can ride

With a valid driving licence and CBT certificate, you can ride a motorcycle or scooter up to 125cc with L plates.

What you cannot do

You cannot carry a passenger or ride on motorways.

How long it lasts

A CBT certificate is valid for two years. To keep riding after that, take another CBT or pass your full motorcycle test.

Insurance

You still need insurance. For food delivery, you need cover for that kind of work.

After the CBT

Many riders start on a 125cc scooter and later take their full licence for bigger bikes and to remove the L plates.

Ride with Easy Bikes

All our 125cc scooters can be ridden on a CBT, and insurance is included in our agreements. WhatsApp 07939 317202.
